Located in eastern Suzhou, SIP boasts a network of expressways, railways, watercourses and air routes that link it with the major global cities. It takes only 20 min to Shanghai, 60 min to Nanjing, and four and a half hours to Beijing by railway. It is an important center in the Yangtze River Delta region for headquarters economy and commercial and cultural activities.
From south to north, Dushu, Jinji and Yangcheng lakes run through a number of functional zones featuring industry-university-research cooperation, business and trade as well as leisure and health services, which are rejuvenating the 2500-year-old Suzhou city.
From west to east, Loujiang and Wusong rivers wind through the zones that depict the transition from classical to modern elements, the harmonious fusion of eastern and western cultures, and the innovative heritage of traditions.
