The scenic spots and resorts in SIP recorded 870,000 tourist arrivals during the Chinese New Year holiday that lasted from Jan 31 to Feb 6. The nine hotels located around the Jinji and Yangcheng lakes reported a total operating income of RMB 15.9 million.
Most of the tourists came from Shanghai and other cities near SIP. They were attracted by the traditional and modern festival events including bazaars, art performances, parades, exhibitions, sports activities and so on.
The digital fireworks on the Sky Screen at Harmony Times Square and the dragon and lion dances under the screen rendered strong festival atmosphere, and the bazaars at HB World, Suzhou Center, Suzhou Eslite Bookstore and Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block offered the participants opportunities to savor the charm of traditional culture and fashionable lifestyles.
It is worth mentioning that many ice and snow sports activities were held to mark the 2022 Winter Olympics that kicked off in Beijing on Feb 4.
Apart from that, the hotels offered various parent-child activities such as cooking lessons and DIY for their guests, and the cinemas showed a list of hit movies.
