SIP’s Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort (YLPTR) saw about 300,000 tourists during the Chinese New Year holiday that lasted from Feb 11 to 17, and the local tourism income reached RMB 140.33 million, up 84.81% compared with that in the Chinese New Year holiday in 2019.
HB World, a film-themed entertainment complex which hosted a series of daytime and nighttime festival events during the holiday, attracted 67,000 people, while Chongyuan Temple, a Buddhist temple in YLPTR, received 16,047 visitors on Feb 16, the fifth day of the first month on the Chinese lunar calendar when people worship “the God of Wealth” to pray for good fortune. Besides, the local lakeside cycling track, parks and other tourist destinations also attracted flocks of tourists.
The shopping spots saw sharp increase of customers. Suzhou Village, an outlets mall recorded a customer footfall of 40,200 on the Valentine’s Day, and the number of visitors over the holiday exceeded 192,100.
Moreover, the hotels in the areas received more than 1,500 guests during the holiday, and 80% of the guests stayed for at least two days.
