Suzhou Eslite Bookstore in SIP recently released its annual reading report along with the list of “Top 100 Bestsellers of 2022”, on which books on art design stand first and literary works and children’s books are close on its heels. The exhibition of the “Top 100 Bestsellers of 2022” kicked off concurrently.
It is worth mentioning that it is the sixth straight year that books on art design have topped the list, with a year-on-year increase of 6% in sales.
Among the bestsellers are also the new editions of a number of classic works such as To Live by Chinese novelist Yu Hua and Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out by Nobel laureate Mo Yan, which both recorded high sales thanks to the new designs and live-stream marketing.
In addition, works featuring or based on South China culture are popular, so are many picture books and those on psychology and new concepts such as future algorithms and metaverse.
