The exhibition themed “An Encounter with Bugs – Zhu Yingchun’s Books and Bugs” opened at Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, SIP on Nov 20, leading the visitors into the “world of bugs”. The exhibition is free to the public and will last till Feb 19, 2023.
Zhu Yingchun, a multi-award-winning Chinese book designer and artist, is well-known for his ingenious creation of books and artworks based on natural characters and movements of bugs. His book Ant Talk was awarded the special production prize for the most beautiful book by UNESCO in 2008.
The exhibition includes images, installations and videos that Zhu created based on over ten years of observation of bugs. It inspires visitors to look closely at the little creatures in nature, learn more about them and discover their beauty.
Zhu showed up at the opening ceremony where he shared his opinions and experiences with the participants.
