For the first time, SIP Municipal Service Group (SIPMSG) employed unmanned aerial vehicles to spray pesticides. The drones, capable of delivering 30 liters of pesticides each time, finished the task for 855 plane trees along the 4.5-kilometer sections of Shuize and Wanyue roads in three hours.
Spraying pesticides through drones can protect people from harmful pesticides, save water, ensure uniform pesticide application, and improve the spraying efficiency. It marks a further step that SIPMSG has made in applying drones in environmental maintenance following its try last year to sow seeds of ryegrass in a 400,000-square-meter lawn beside Shuize Road.
