Mondelez International (Suzhou) Co Ltd, a branch of Mondelez International, a leading global snacking company, recently became the third “lighthouse factory” in SIP, the other two being Johnson & Johnson Medical (Suzhou) Ltd and Bosch Auto Parts (Suzhou) Co Ltd.
The World Economic Forum’s Shaping the Future of Advanced Manufacturing and Value Chains platform has set up the Global Lighthouse Network to accelerate a more comprehensive and inclusive adoption of advanced technologies in manufacturing. To date, 132 “lighthouse factories” from different industrial sectors have been identified worldwide, and 50 of them are in China.
Founded in 1995, Mondelez International (Suzhou) currently has 13 completely automatic productions which yield more than 200,000 tons of Oreo, Chips Ahoy! and other kinds of biscuits. The company has managed to greatly improve its manufacturing and logistics efficiency by employing AI, 3D printing, digital twin, Internet of Things, Automatic Guided Vehicle and other advanced technologies.
Mondelez International (Suzhou) now serves as an R&D and manufacturing center for Mondelez International’s baked products in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Each year, more than 100 kinds of products are delivered from Suzhou to markets across Asia.
