WuXi Vaccines, a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), signed an agreement with SIP’s BioBAY on Dec 8 to set up a vaccine-focused CDMO service base in the biomedicine cluster.
WuXi Vaccines, a joint venture between WuXi Biologics and Hile Bio-pharmaceutical, currently provides CDMO services to 17 clients worldwide with its world-class integrated development and manufacturing platforms to help expedite 38 vaccines to clinical stage and market.
The about 10,000-square-meter facility, the company’s first and only independent vaccine development and GMP production base so far, will have production lines for manufacturing 250L, 500L and 1,000L single-use bioreactors and sterile biological agents. It will allow the company to provide better CDMO services for its partners.
