Pfizer animal health spinoff Zoetis opened its new manufacturing base and R&D center in SIP on Nov 15. The complex, with an investment of more than US$200 million, is engaged in development, production and supply of vaccines for livestock, poultry, fish and companion animals. It marks a milestone in the company’s localization.
The complex was built in accordance with the country’s new Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards for veterinary drugs and Zoetis’ global design and construction quality standards, and is equipped with world-leading viral and bacterial vaccine manufacturing facilities.
At the opening ceremony, the company announced that it had put its first batch of Fel-O-Vax®PCT cat vaccines manufactured in the country on sale in Suzhou.
