SIP Jinji Lake School (Sutong Road campus) put a smart system into use on Nov 29 to alleviate traffic pressure on the roads near it during the time when many of its students arrive and leave in cars.
Now, parents are guided to drive their cars into the school’s underground parking lot to drop off or pick up their children.
In the parking lot is a row of drop-off and pick-up zones marked in different colors, where parents can drop off or pick up their children outside the gate machines. There are electronic screens showing information about the students who will arrive.
Teachers and volunteers serve at the parking lot to guide the students into or out of the school safely.
The system, incorporating Internet of Things technology, is linked with a WeChat program through which teachers and parents can check information about the students and traffic conditions.
