Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute in SIP signed agreements with Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Suzhou Institute of Nano-tech and Nano-bionics, University of Science and Technology of China, Tsinghua University and other partners on Dec 15 to cooperate in seven projects designed to accelerate upgrading of auto glasses and trim parts.

Fuyao Suzhou Research Institute was inaugurated in SIP’s Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone last year by Fuyao Group, a globally leading auto glass manufacturer incorporated in 1987 in Fuzhou, capital of East China’s Fujian province. It launched a program in May to seek partners in R&D projects that can propel future evolution of vehicles.

According to Jiang Bingming, vice president of Fuyao Group, the new projects mainly focus on development of auto glass-related products, technology and devices. Jiang gave the example of a solution that employs nano materials to defrost and demist auto cameras during automatic driving of vehicles.
