Suzhou hosted the Conference on Integrated Development of Industrial Innovation Clusters in the Era of Digital Economy on Feb 6 when SIP was highlighted as a shining example for integrated development of industrial innovation clusters.
SIP has made remarkable achievements in fueling industrial innovation over the past one year. The output value of the integrated circuit industry in SIP reached RMB80 billion, while that of the biomedical industry was close to RMB140 billion and that of the nanotech application industry exceeded RMB145 billion.
At the conference, the advanced manufacturing cluster for biomedicine and high-end medical devices and the one for new nano materials in SIP were inaugurated, and a number of enterprises received honors.
Crystal Pharmatech, an SIP-based technology-driven contract research organization (CRO) that focuses on materials science and engineering for drug development, was declared a SRDI (specialized, refined, differential and innovative) enterprise.
Qichacha.com, a business information system company, Scivita Medical Technology Co Ltd, a medical devices company, and Suzhou Abogen Biosciences (AbogenBio), a biomedicine company, were declared unicorn enterprises.
Moreover, three SIP-based enterprises were designated as national enterprise technology centers, and AISpeech Suzhou, a natural language interaction solution supplier, was authorized to build a national new-generation AI innovation platform for linguistic computing.
ORIZA Holdings, an SIP-based state-owned investment organization which has made investments in 174 enterprises in Suzhou, shared its experience in investment at the event.
