SIP Customs has constantly improved its services in the aim of facilitating foreign trade, and these improvements have benefited many enterprises in SIP.
Nine enterprises in SIP last year were certified as Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) which refer to parties involved in the international movement of goods in whatever function that have been approved by or on behalf of a national customs administration as complying with World Customs Organization (WCO) or equivalent supply chain security standards. These enterprises therefore have been entitled to enjoy a series of favorable treatments such as customs simplifications to accelerate the process of import and export and save cost.
Additionally, SIP Customs last year issued 3,247 pieces of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) certificate of origin to 83 enterprises which enjoyed tariff preference of about US$1.30 million in RCEP member countries.
Concurrently, SIP Customs accelerated its response to enterprises’ inquiries and increased online services last year. It is planning to expand application of digital and smart technology in its services to provide enterprises with more convenience.
